Do I need an API key?
No. The MCP endpoint takes no key — you approve a payment link before anything is actually mailed.
What can Claude Code actually do with it?
It gets three letter tools — quote_letter, send_letter, and get_letter_status — plus a buy_credits tool for pre-funding sends, so it can price a piece, send it after you confirm, and check delivery status. Postcards (4x6/6x9/6x11, message-only, from $1.99) and the notecard (message-only, $5.99) are live too — pass a format argument to quote_letter/send_letter to reach them, the same way POST /v1/orders does.
How much does sending cost?
Letters start at $1.99 for First-Class; Certified Mail starts at $12.99. Every quote shows the exact total before you approve anything, and sandbox mode is free.
